Some of you may be aware of a major pollution spill at the Glenfield Wastewater Treatment Plant causing 150 mega Litres of untreated waste water to flow into the Georges River last weekend.
As a result Sydney Water has strongly advised against any contact with the water in the Georges River from Liverpool through to Botany Bay.
Of course this includes Chipping Norton Lake which is very much part of the river system. The initial warning was up until 9.00am Wed 27 Nov. This has now been extended until 9.00am Sat 30 Nov 2013.
In the interest of safety and well being to all, I have made the call to postpone the Water Fun Day scheduled for Sunday 1 Dec. (I cannot see an improvement happening in 24 hours). Will aim to reschedule it for early next year. (Feb – Mar) May even look at a different location.
